Privacy Policy

Last updated: 23 August 2026

Conquering Marriage (“we”, “us”) runs conqueringmarriage.com. This page explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it. We have tried to keep it in plain English.

What we collect

If you join our email list

When you sign up for the free marriage guide or our newsletter, we collect your email address and, if you give it, your first name. We use this to send you the guide and occasional emails with new articles and practical advice. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link, and you can unsubscribe at any time.

Our email list is hosted by MailerLite, which stores your email address, name, signup date, IP address and country, and records whether you open our emails or click links in them. We use that only to understand what people find useful. MailerLite processes this data on our behalf under its own privacy policy.

If you use our contact form

The contact form collects your name, email address, subject and message so we can reply. Submissions are emailed to us and stored in the website’s database. If you tick the newsletter box on that form, your email address is also added to our mailing list; if you leave it unticked, it is not.

Please do not send us anything you would not want written down. We are not licensed therapists, we cannot offer counselling or legal advice, and the contact form is not a confidential or crisis service.

If you just read the site

We use Google Analytics 4 to see how many people visit, which articles they read, and roughly where in the world they are. Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser and collects your IP address (which Google truncates before storing), device and browser type, and the pages you view. We do not use it to identify individual people, and we have not enabled Google advertising features or ad personalisation.

Our host, WPX Hosting, keeps standard server logs (IP address, time, page requested) for security and troubleshooting. Wordfence, our security plugin, records IP addresses of blocked or suspicious requests.

Cookies

The site sets cookies for Google Analytics, and MailerLite may set a cookie to avoid showing you the same signup box repeatedly. If you are logged in as an administrator, WordPress sets session cookies. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work.

Embedded content from other sites

Articles may embed content such as videos or images hosted elsewhere. Embedded content behaves exactly as if you had visited that other website, and those sites may collect data about you and set their own cookies.

Affiliate links

Some links on this site are affiliate links, which means we may earn a commission if you buy something after clicking one, at no extra cost to you. Clicking one takes you to the other company’s website, where their privacy policy applies. We record that a link was clicked, but not who clicked it.

Who we share your data with

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal data. We share it only with the service providers that run this site for us: MailerLite (email), Google Analytics (site statistics), and WPX Hosting (hosting). We may also disclose data if we are legally required to.

How long we keep it

We keep your email address until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. Contact form submissions are kept for up to two years. Analytics data is retained by Google for 14 months. Server and security logs are kept for a short period by our host and security plugin.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. If you are in the UK or the EU you also have the right to object to processing and to complain to your data protection authority. If you are in California, you have the right to know what we collect and to ask us to delete it, and we do not sell personal information.

To exercise any of these, email us at cm@conqueringmarriage.com and we will respond within 30 days.

Children

This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us their details, email us and we will delete them.

Security and breaches

The site is served over HTTPS, kept up to date, and protected by a security plugin and firewall. No website can promise perfect security. If a breach affects your personal data, we will notify affected people and the relevant authority where the law requires it.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your data we will update this page and the date at the top. For anything else, email cm@conqueringmarriage.com.
